Sunday night, August 19th, Laurie and I drove down to Battleship Cove in Fall River for the event "Battleship Boogie", which we had heard about at our last big band dancing outing in Rhode Island in May. Postponed from the night before because of threatening weather, we arrived in good time on a beautiful summer evening with time enough to stroll the grounds before heading up the gangplank. |

Looking forward to a night of dancing under the stars (which in the event remained hidden by clouds). |

Live music was provided by the Meadow-Larks, shown here setting up. Prior to the dancing, there was a lesson from 5:30 to 6:30 by Lestyn Gilmore, which gave us the chance to learn an intermediate 24-step routine to incorporate into our dancing. |
