Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

Dear Rebecca,

Today is the feast day that celebrates a great victory many years ago that was won "by the power of prayer". And so every year we dedicate October to the Rosary. Your brother and sisters and I have prayed the Rosary every night since last Monday when we learned you were sick, and we are going to continue that until you are born, and maybe even later...

Your mom and I are both worried and scared for you and for ourselves too, because we don't know if we will be able to take care of you. It's so easy to get worried and let that worry drain life of joy, so I keep praying that we will be strong enough and sensible enough not to let that happen. We have been reading about how other parents with children who were sick or different from other children learned to be the parents their kids needed, but while that type of story sometimes makes us feel better (we think, we can do that), we also sometimes feel worse (and think, how could I ever do THAT).

You will have to help us as much as we will have to help you.

Love ,

Dad
