Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner A fundraiser for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul |

It all started days before in the kitchen. My mom and I rolled about 1000 meatballs from scratch and I made gallons of spaghetti sauce to cook the meatballs in. Members of the conference dropped off crock pots, and we had four going at once. On Friday I brought them over to the church undercroft kitchen with the help of my friends Fred and Gus. Here I am just before the 6 pm dinner start checking on the main fare. |

Jim L gave me a lot of help in the kitchen, including preparing many loaves of bread for our dinner guests. |

We had a good crowd, with 120 tickets sold. |

We divvied up the chores for the event ahead of time, and everything went smoothly. There were servers, raffle sellers, runners to bring out extra food and drink, ticket sellers, etc. |

The ladies of the group made lots of wonderful desserts; Laura F made three trays of her wonderful Italian cookies and biscotti. Seen above with Marguerite L who was a tremendous worker for this, garnering a dozen raffle/auction items and the lead in getting the word out about the event. |

Our pastor Fr. Raeke came, as did Deacon Phil Lafond and his wife. Several of the sisters were also there. |

Lucy did a great job selling raffle tickets for the many prizes that members had solicited from local businesses. Many thanks to all of them, especially Christo's Restaurant which supplied the salad, bread and butter plus a dinner for two which was one of our silent auction items. |

It was a great night for parishioners and friends of the St. Vincent de Paul Society to enjoy one another's company and have a fun beginning to this first weekend in May. |

I got to be MC as well, and above I'm drawing for one of the many raffles. Donations came from Christo's, Montilios, Supreme Pizza, Alexander's Restaurant, Village Pizza, Lambert's, Hair Flair Indulgence, Eastside Cuts & Salon, Abby Mae's Limo, Texas Roadhouse, the Old Colony YMCA, Costco, City Glass, Shaws, Stop & Shop, Gowell's Candy, Tedeschi's Food Shops, Tranquil Escape Spa, as well as donations from individuals of many prizes. Our thanks to all who helped us raise funds so we can help those in need. |
