WaKanna was brought into existence through the synergistic efforts and shared foundational values of four African-American women who believe health, wealth, legacy and freedom are gifts that belong to all people. Some of these ladies have shaped multi-billion dollar companies and have helped empower over 5,000 minorities to join the Cannabis/CBD space. The company launched on April 20, 2019 with the goal of becoming the largest and most reputable minority-owned Cannabis/CBD oil company in the world. By 2025, their plan is to operate as a full-service Cannabis company that expands from wholesaling micro-dispensaries to farming and manufacturing. Through their Focus Groups, WaKanna University, WaKanna Legacy, Micro-Dispensaries, and Pathway to Ownership they offer the most unique Cannabis concept that will revolutionize the industry by empowering the average person to leave generational wealth.
Ethnic Expressions is an online, African American department store. It was founded by Brian and Carrie Johnson. Their mission is to bring products to the African American community that affirm, edify and uplift the community.
Ethnic Expressions specializes in clothing, art and home decor that give Black people a sense of pride, a sense of identity and a sense of being connected to our ancestors. In other words, they want to encourage members of the community to feel good in the skin they are in, and to express those feelings as freely as they choose to.
They are ardent supporters of African Americans and their communities. But to be for ourselves does not mean we are against anyone else. It simply means that we are for ourselves.
Specifically, it simply means they are for their families, their neighbors, and their communities. It simply means taking pride in who they are and their cultural heritage. It also means believing in taking responsibility and doing all they can to enhance our their well being.

Codman Square Health Center is a community-based, outpatient health care and multi-service center in the heart of Dorchester. We offer comprehensive care for the whole family, including primary, eye, dental, urgent, and behavioral health care, as well as many medical specialties. In addition, we are a community organization that provides financial and wellness programming.
We opened our doors in 1979 with a dream: to build the best urban community in America. As part of this dream, we recognized that though health care begins by alleviating sickness, the journey to a true “culture of health” is achieved through the health of the whole person and community.
Today, we are home to a staff of more than 300 multi-lingual and multi-cultural expert clinicians, medical staff and employees, most of whom reside in the neighborhoods surrounding Codman Square. We boast more than 115,000 client contacts each year, and have developed an astounding depth and breadth of community programs, as well as strong partnerships with other organizations in order to meet our mission most efficiently.
